About

Los Angeles County consists of approximately 10 million people, some of whom still need to be vaccinated. The LA County Department of Public Health could use your help and there are many skills needed to make this effort successful. Volunteers are sought to work in their community to answer questions and provide accurate education and facts about the currently accepted vaccines. People are needed who speak different languages, are of different ages and who know their communities. If you choose to become certified and registered as a volunteer, you will be working with others in community settings or at COVID-19 vaccination sites in Los Angeles County. Those who work at COVID-19 vaccination sites will help communities to understand the value of being enrolled in v-safe during their 15-minute post-vaccination observation period. We hope that you will join in becoming a vaccine warrior or v-safe enrollee. Now is a time to be on the side of history that makes a difference.

How can you help?

  • Volunteers are needed to help those receiving COVID-19 vaccines to report their symptoms post-vaccination. The current method of symptom reporting is the CDC’s smartphone-based tool to conduct health check-ins, v-safe. Widespread use of v-safe is essential for identifying any health risks associated with the currently available COVID-19 vaccines. There remains large populations that are not being accounted for due to a general lack of awareness of v-safe. With volunteers help to increase enrollment in v-safe, especially in underserved communities, data-collection can optimize the safety and quick administration of the COVID-19 vaccines.
  • Those who volunteer as a strike-team member will work in many different community settings to spread facts about the currently available COVID-19 vaccines and combat vaccine hesitancy.
